The MBA application for the UT Austin McCombs School of Business requires one recommendation. Professional recommendations are strongly recommended (i.e. direct supervisor, indirect supervisor, or a client) but if the applicant is unable to request a letter of recommendation from a direct supervisor or feel another recommender would be more appropriate, they should provide an explanation why in the optional essay statement. The Admissions Committee limits each application to one letter of recommendation and cannot accept additional recommendations.
McCombs uses the Common Letter of Recommendation from GMAC.
